Welcome

Gan means garden.

A garden is beautiful — but only when it's tended with care. That idea is the whole reason The Gan exists.

We dreamed about what a truly nurturing first school could feel like: a calm, warm space where a child is seen, loved, and given room to grow at their own pace — where the youngest years, the most foundational years of a person's life, are treated with the attention they deserve.

The name came from a long search for a word that captured exactly that. In Hebrew, gan means garden. And like any garden, a child needs the right soil, light, and love to bloom. That's the promise we make to every family who walks through our doors.

"A garden holds so much beauty waiting to be discovered — and with the right nurturing, you get to watch it unfold. That's why we named our school The Gan, which means 'garden' in Hebrew." Sarah Barash, Founder

The Gan was created for children to have a space where they can feel truly seen, loved, and nurtured. We dreamed about what that would look like — and for us, it was creating a very zen, calming atmosphere. When Rose walks in, you can see her nervous system reset, and she feels so calm, loved, and welcome here. And the second Milo walked into the Gan, she just blossomed and felt so much security and calm. When you focus on a child's strengths, you're focusing on how they learn best. In the Gan environment, we want every child to feel emotionally safe — and that it's okay to make mistakes. We believe children learn best when they have access to meaningful, open-ended materials that encourage creativity and invite exploration. She goes happily to the Gan every morning, and we go about our day confident and calm, knowing she's in the best hands there are. Confidence grows when children feel safe, loved, connected, capable — like they matter. And that's the atmosphere we work to create at the Gan every single day.

Our Approach

We teach to your child's strengths.

Most schools spend their energy on a child's weaknesses — trying to fix what's "behind." We do the opposite. Every child is born with their own way of learning best — visual, auditory, or hands-on — and our teachers are trained to notice those strengths and build on them, drawing on the science of neuroplasticity during the brain's most formative years.

When a child learns through what they're naturally good at, something powerful happens — they feel capable. Safe to try, safe to make mistakes, eager to keep going. That's where real confidence, and real learning, begins.

Our whole philosophy fits in four words we return to every day — the 4 B.E.L.S.™ framework, created by education consultant Dr. Andrea Seidman to grow the whole child.

Body

Healthy habits, movement, and coordination — so children feel strong, capable, and at home in their own bodies.

Brain

Curiosity, problem-solving, and the early literacy and numeracy that turn a child's natural wonder into a lifelong love of learning.

Belonging

A warm, inclusive community where every child feels seen, safe, and genuinely valued — because connection comes before everything else.

Building a Better Self

Confidence, kindness, and emotional growth. Children learn to name what they feel and steady themselves, guided by a truth we return to daily: all feelings are allowed.

And it all unfolds in classrooms kept intentionally calm and uncluttered — a setting designed to settle the nervous system, with simple breathing tools children can reach for anytime, so they can focus, engage, and truly thrive.

"If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing it's stupid. We want every child to feel emotionally safe — and to discover what they're brilliant at." Dr. Andrea Seidman, Education Consultant

Inside The Gan

Rich materials. Room to explore.

Every material in our classrooms is chosen with intention. We invested in beautiful, open-ended learning tools that invite creativity and exploration rather than dictate a single right answer — and we give children the space to follow their curiosity.

A day at The Gan might move from our STEAM program to a math or literacy station, from art to dance and movement, from yoga and breathing to quiet, focused play. Children choose how they learn best, guided by teachers who know exactly what each child needs next.

Jewish Life, Made Joyful

Where Jewish identity takes root.

At The Gan, Judaism isn't a subject — it's woven through the whole day. We make challah, celebrate Shabbat, mark the holidays together, and thank G-d before we eat. Children experience Jewish tradition through their senses: tasting, singing, feeling G-d's love in nature and in the warmth around them.

We see every child as a Divine spark, created b'tzelem Elokim — in the image of G-d — with infinite potential and purpose. Our hope is simple: that every child grows up feeling that being Jewish is joyful, that they are cherished, and that their connection to G-d and community is something to treasure for life.

Safe, Secure & Warm

So you never worry at drop-off.

We know that for today's families — and especially Jewish families — safety isn't a feature, it's a foundation. The Gan is built for it: dedicated on-site security, a calm and controlled environment, and a warm, highly qualified team who know and love your child.

The result is peace of mind. Parents tell us they feel completely comfortable the moment they say goodbye at the door.

What Our Families Say

Loved by the families who found us first.

"When Rose walks in, you can see her nervous system reset — she feels so calm, loved, and welcome. She comes home with stories every single day. Having looked at a lot of schools, I really feel they've created a one-of-a-kind experience. We're their number one fans."

Hi, I'm Jamie Wollman. My daughter, who is two and a half, is currently enrolled at The Gan. We've been here since we opened in June, and we are their number one fans. When Rose walks in, you can see her nervous system reset, and she feels so calm, loved, and welcome here. I also really loved the unique curriculum offered here. One of the biggest things I noticed with Rose is that one learning style doesn't necessarily work for her — she loves to sometimes learn through dancing and music, other times through sensory play, other times through reading. The option to explore all those different modalities of learning was really critical for Rose's foundation and for setting her up for success in the long run. She walked in today and Kisbell said, "Rose, I just love every princess dress you wear to school," and Rose immediately felt excited and ready to play. Even when she's like, "Mommy, I wanna be with you," when she sees Kisbell and the other teachers she just feels so settled and comfortable — they just know what she needs. The teachers are so welcoming, the environment is amazing, and there is just truly nothing like it. Having evaluated a bunch of different schools and talked to different parents, I really feel like they've created a one-of-a-kind experience, and we're just so happy to be here.

"We moved here from Israel just a few months ago, and the second my daughter walked in, she blossomed. The team wraps her in warmth and helps her feel understood. If I had to describe The Gan in one word: nurturing."

Hi, nice to meet you — I'm Hila, mom of Milo, who's two years old and attends the preschool The Gan at Chabad of Jupiter. She started at the summer camp and will continue into the school year and next year too. I really want to tell you about the amazing experience we're having here with our daughter. We moved here from Israel not long ago — a little under three months — and the second Milo walked into the Gan, she just blossomed and felt so much security and calm. They wrap her in warmth, help her with the language, and understand her, which was so important to us: that she'd feel at ease. She goes happily to the Gan every morning, and we go about our day confident and calm, knowing she's in the best hands there are. Sarah and the team here do absolutely amazing work. The Gan is brand new, and there are so many options and activities for the kids. We have an app where we follow along with what they're doing, and they document their moments here for us. I warmly recommend it to any parent who wants the best for their child — who wants them to truly be in a school, not a kind of babysitting. Come here and enjoy every single day your child is in the safest, most loving setting there could be. To sum it up in one word: nurturing.
